Welcome back to Good Day, Atlanta at 8:23. They say diamonds are a girl's best friend. Well, one Loganville woman proved it when she went digging, after flushing her diamond bracelet down the toilet. Fox 5's George Franco has the story. The front yard is put back in place after Cindy Edwards tells us she lost a $4000 diamond bracelet down the toilet. "So when I went to flush the toilet, my bracelet just fell off." "It just went in there and away it goes." "And all you can do is watch it float away, right?" Miss Edwards tells us she didn't realize the clasp on her $4000 diamond bracelet was loose until it was too late. Andrew Cook with Roto-Rooter rescued the precious stones from a backwater valve outside the home, but it required snaking this optic camera. "I would take this and locate exactly where it was at." And using this high-tech detector to find the diamonds in the rough, Cook tells us it was the most expensive clog he's ever worked on, with the bling getting stuck under the floorboards. He says he then gambled on a royal flush, hoping the water pressure wouldn't send the precious stones beyond his reach into the main sewer pipe outside the home. "It could have gone further and if it had, we would have been digging up the front yard." Little shoveling was needed since the diamonds ended up in the easily reached backwater valve outside the house. Total costs, we're told, were less than half the cost of the bracelet. "Make sure your prongs are checked and make sure they close properly." Miss Edwards tells us it was definitely worth the expense to get her diamond bracelet back. In Loganville tonight, I'm George Franco, Fox 5 News.
