Thanksgiving can be a hectic time for everyone, from preparing the meal to entertaining family and friends. But you may not know that the day after Thanksgiving is also the busiest day of the year for the plumbing and drain cleaning specialists at Roto-Rooter. So in an effort to help you and us enjoy Thanksgiving, we'd like to offer some Turkey Day tips to make sure you'll be filling your tummy instead of dealing with clogged drains. Never pour fats, grease, or cooking oils down the drain. Don't put stringy, fibrous, or starchy waste like peelings celery, or perhaps the worst thing, turkey skin into the garbage disposal. And if you have overnight or weekend guests, remind them to never put things like cotton swabs or cotton balls down the commode. That's what the waste baskets are for. Also, wait about 15 minutes between showers to give the drains time to sufficiently empty and to allow the water heater to keep up with demand. Perhaps most importantly, if you are entertaining, give us a call prior to the big day and we'll perform a quick, free inspection to identify and resolve any potential problems before they occur, saving you time, money, and maybe your Thanksgiving.
