Green Bathroom Fixtures and Bath Faucets

In today's environmentally conscious society, there are more options than ever for those who are remodeling and wish to incorporate eco-friendly bathroom elements into their design. From bathtubs and countertops made of recycled plastic and glass to low-flow toilets and showerheads there are plenty of ways to "go green." But is it possible to be both green and stylish at the same time? Of course! Whether you enjoy traditional, contemporary, modern, vintage, or rustic styles, there's something for everyone.

When selecting the perfect eco-friendly tub fixtures for your bathroom, keep the following in mind:

  • Faucet styles. These days, picking out tub fixtures is not as simple as it once was – but that's because you have so many choices! For example, you'll need to decide if you want a wall mount faucet or a tub mount. Do you prefer a low arc or high arc faucet? What about a waterfall faucet, which pours water beautifully and is reminiscent of a spa? How about a faucet that comes with a hand shower attached to the tub filler? Each decision will bring you closer to buying the perfect faucet for your bathroom.
  • Handle styles. Evaluate the design you want for the bathroom as a whole, then imagine how your bathtub faucets and handles fit into that design. Tub handles are available in a range of styles, including lever, cross, push button, knob, wrist blade, electronic, and more.
  • Finishes. When it comes to the finish, it's not difficult to find a faucet and handle set to match your design. Even eco-friendly tub fixtures come in a variety of finishes, including chrome, brushed nickel, platinum, silver/pewter, bronze, brass, and more.
  • WaterSense-labeled. If you're trying to conserve water, look for the Environmental Protection Agency's WaterSense label on a faucet before purchasing one. This label means a faucet uses less water than similar products without the label. Buying a WaterSense product can save you money – not only because of a lower utility bill, but because some governments will give additional rebates on such purchases.

Going green doesn't have to mean going dull. Make your remodeled bathroom into whatever you want it to be – simply be conscious in your choices of materials and fixtures. Happy designing!
